Plate Recognizer VisionAlert
Receive alerts when cameras are blocked, moved, blurred, or affected by glare in any environment. VisionAlert uses intelligent analysis to distinguish between temporary and persistent obstructions, reducing false positives through contextual evaluation.
Overview
VisionAlert monitors your cameras and sends alerts when it detects issues such as camera blockage, movement, blurry images, or glare. The system is designed to minimize false positives by distinguishing between temporary and permanent obstructions.
Supported Camera Systems
Cisco Meraki
VisionAlert integrates directly with Cisco Meraki cameras through the Meraki API. This integration allows you to monitor your existing Meraki camera network without additional hardware or complex setup. You'll need to generate an API key from your Meraki dashboard to authorize VisionAlert to access your camera feeds.
For detailed setup instructions, see the Meraki Configuration Guide.
FTP Upload
The FTP option provides flexibility to work with virtually any camera system. VisionAlert gives you dedicated FTP credentials where you can upload snapshots from your cameras. This method works with any camera system capable of FTP uploads, making it a universal solution regardless of your existing hardware.
For detailed setup instructions, see the FTP Configuration Guide.
NX Video Management System
For users of the NX video management platform, VisionAlert offers direct integration. By connecting your NX server to the NX Cloud, you can provide VisionAlert with access to your camera feeds through a secure cloud proxy, eliminating the need for complex network configurations or firewall changes.
For detailed setup instructions, see the NX Configuration Guide.
OpenEye Video Management System
VisionAlert offers native integration with the OpenEye Web Services (OWS) platform, enabling continuous monitoring of your video environment.
Through a secure connection with the OpenEye API, VisionAlert can automatically list available cameras and monitor ongoing activity to trigger smart alerts and insights — all without requiring port forwarding or exposing local devices.
For detailed setup instructions, see the OpenEye Configuration Guide.
Basic Configuration
After setting up your camera system integration, you'll need to:
- Add and Remove Cameras: Select which cameras you want VisionAlert to monitor
- Configure Reference Images: For FTP users, upload reference snapshots for comparison
- Access the Dashboard: Monitor camera status and view detected anomalies
For detailed configuration instructions, see the Configuration Guide.
